Are College Student-Athletes University Employees?

The University of Tennessee is one of several schools preparing for student-athletes to be classified as university employees. If the decision is made that athletes are employees, then they will need to be paid and given benefits. How will schools pay for their new athlete-employees? That's entirely up to the schools, and Tennessee is already allocating funds for said employees.

Tennessee created a non-profit foundation. Initially, the fund will help athletic business operations but will most likely turn into a fund for student-athlete salaries. In other words, Tennessee is potentially asking for donations in order to pay its athletes.

Is Caitlin Clark Superhuman? 

Today Caitlin Clark became the NCAA All-Time Leading Scorer in the first half of the game against Ohio State. This game is bittersweet, as it's one of Caitlin's last college home games before moving on to the WNBA.

Since Caitlin Clark is a Nike athlete, the company created several billboards around Iowa describing Caitlin's basketball career. Shortly after breaking the record, Nike released a new Caitlin Clark dedicated sign in Iowa City stating "this was never a long shot". They also dropped a new Caitlin Clark t-shirt with the same phrase.
