Welcome to the latest edition of the Activate NIL Newsletter! We're excited to dive into an increasingly influential aspect of the NIL landscape: NIL collectives. These innovative groups are transforming how athletes can leverage their personal brands and unlock new opportunities.
In this edition, we'll explore three NEW fundraising strategies collectives are using - selling food products, creating kids memberships, and stressing the importance of NIL.
I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for NIL Ice Cream!
While several NIL collectives have created some form of alcohol to sell to raise money, Mizzou's Every True Tiger Collective is branching out to food products. Every True Tiger released an appropriately named "Tiger Tracks" ice cream, a pizza, and two types of cookies. All products feature athletes on the packaging and highlight Mizzou's sporting accomplishments. The most recent release of cookies celebrates Mizzou's incredible 2023 football season. Proceeds from the food sales benefit the athletes at Mizzou.

Kids Club Memberships
While it's well-known that collectives have memberships, Utah's Crimson Collective released the first kid-specific membership this week. This membership offers children a chance to participate in special events such as meet-and-greets, receive exclusive merchandise, and enjoy interactive activities. The goal is to connect young fans with the athletes they admire, fostering a deeper appreciation for college sports.
